Ben Waples. Australian bassist & pop crooner based in Sydney. Alter ego of Ben 'Donny' Waples. Fictional back story : Solo performer. Son of renowned Italian accordionist Antonio Giacomelli Benet, who gained notoriety by recording disco hits from the 1970s. After falling in love with the daughter of an accordion repairman and eloping to Leichhardt, Antonio made Australia his new home. They soon became parents to Donny. Growing up, Donny followed in his father's footsteps, but at the age of 15, he had a change of heart and started playing the Moog synthesizer after realizing that disco accordion was no longer popular.
