When was Inspirations first released on vinyl?
The earliest pressings are from 1980, in UK & Ireland, Australia, France, Netherlands and more. One of them is K-Tel NE 1101, released November 1980.
How do I tell if my copy of Inspirations is a first pressing?
Check the catalog number on the label (first-year pressings use NE 1101, NA 557, BLP 80010, CN 0161) and the codes etched in the runout groove, then compare them with the pressings listed above; for example, A3AAAX TA/PE NE 1101- A-2 RCA W and A3Z NE 1101- B-3 RCA W. Later reissues often keep the catalog number but change the label design or the runout codes.
