It all started when four Boston-bred kids joined forces in 1985 to form Extreme. With an original new sound and groundbreaking records, after Nuno (ex-Massachusetts bands Sinful - from Hudson and Milford, MA. and Viking) joined, the foursome was immediately recognized as innovators in the world of hard rock & roll. The band has described their music as “Funky Metal” in the early days, but it would evolve much more in the mid-90s by blending classic rock influences with post-grunge and alternative rock. Wikipedia: Extreme is an American rock band, headed by frontmen Gary Cherone and Nuno Bettencourt, that reached the height of their popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
