Five Dollar Shoes are a glam rock band from New York City, USA. The band formed in 1971. Singer and keyboardist had collaborated on some projects, and had a good working relationship, so they put together a hard-core glam rock band, with guitarist bassist from (called "Wallace" in the Street Noise liner notes), and on drums. They had strong interest from record labels, and signed with Neighborhood Records, owned by and his wife, . Peter had recently worked with which didn't work out, but Peter was very impressed with the drummer and bassist, and bassist . He insisted they be taken into Five Dollar Shoes, despite a year or two working with Brian and Dan.
