Latvian trumpeter, arranger and composer, born March 23, 1947 in Riga, died May 10, 2009. One of most famous Latvian jazz musician, composer, arranger and trumpet player, a legend of Latvian jazz. He performed at the jazz festival in Tallinn with army jazz band "Zvaigznite" - because at the moment he served at the army (the service was a mandatory in USSR). The band "Zvaigznite" was official staff in army, originally organised for playing dances at the army events, and very many famous latvina muscians actually served there. At the festival they played free-jazz(!) and post-bop programm. At the moment in band played also later very famous Latvian jazz pianist and composer Uldis Stabulnieks.
