Hanna Gat (Hebrew: חנה גת) née Hanna Drezner (Hebrew: חנה דרזנר). Illanit, born Hanna Dresner (Later: Hanna Tzakh, Hanna Gat) on September 1, 1947, in Tel Aviv, is an iconic Israeli singer celebrated for her significant contributions to Israeli music, particularly in the pop and folk genres. Gaining prominence in the late 1960s, Illanit chose her stage name, which is distinct from her birth name Hanna Dresner-Tzakh, for its symbolic and aesthetic qualities that align with her artistic persona. In Hebrew, "Illanit" (אילנית) translates to "treelet" or "young tree," evoking images of freshness, growth, and natural beauty. She became a national treasure, known for her unique voice and emotive performances.
