Osbourne is a past student of the famed in Kingston where he learn trumpet and chant. He began singing with and made his first recordings for , then quickly went solo for and , releasing his first album or compilation in 1970 "390897" and his second in 1973 "5543913". In 1977, he left for Canada, where he recorded a number of tracks with . He returned to Jamaica the following year, where he recorded several hits for Studio One and his third album in 1979, which was one of the best of the period.
