A celebrated soprano (1920–2008), she graced some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Rome Opera and New York’s Metropolitan Opera, where she performed alongside renowned tenor Richard Tucker. In the later years of her career, she dedicated herself to teaching voice, gave piano recitals throughout Italy, and enriched her discography with several significant recordings, notably Puccini’s Tosca and Montemezzi’s L’Amore dei tre re (The Love of the Three Kings). Among her most distinguished vocal pupils was the baritone Andrea De Bonis, who went on to enjoy an international career, particularly in China and Germany.
