Marie-Thérèse Renée Micheline Altare. Mathé Altéry, daughter of tenor Mario Altéry, is a French soprano famous for representing France in the first in 1956 and is indeed one of the oldest living participants, turning 98 in September 2025, making her a strong contender for the title, though it's a rotating honor as she's also noted as the first French Eurovision rep. Born: September 12, 1927, in Paris, France. Eurovision 1956: she sang "Le Temps Perdu" in Lugano, Switzerland, finishing 2nd. A prominent opera and operetta singer in the 1950s and 60s, she was honored as a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor in 2006.
