Maxophone from Milan, Italy, was formed in 1973 as a six-piece. They had an unusual assortment of instruments, partly due to their past experience as music students. A band of great talents and musicianship, their selftitled, first album was released in 1975. However it arrived too late to compete with the most important Italian bands of the genre at the time, and went sadly unnoticed. The album was released on the label, along with Duello Madre, as one of the few ventures in rock by this label, but they didn't reach the success they'd deserve with a better production and a good label promotion.
