Patti Day originated from Washington D.C., initially honing her musical skills as part of a band before embarking on a solo career. In 1986, she caught the attention of Starway Records, leading to her signing with the label. Under their banner, Day recorded her debut album "Desire," produced by Steve Cropper, renowned for his work with The Blues Brothers. Although "Desire" remained unreleased, two singles from the album, "Desire" and "Private Property," (remixed by John Luongo) saw limited release in Australia.
