Classical rock group formed by music students from Marburg University, West Germany in 1971. They released four albums as a proper band during their history developing a unique style. This style was based on influences from Classical Music on their works, a style called Symphonic Rock today. In 1980 the multi-instrumentalist band leader formed a new band with from the first Pell Mell line up. 1981 Schmitt released the final Pell Mell album "Moldau", which was largely a solo project, with the help of , who also worked with Schmitt on the Skyrider album.
