How do I tell if my copy of Sad Café is a first pressing?
Check the catalog number on the label (first-year pressings use SAD LP 4, SS 16048, avi 4872, VPL 17363) and the codes etched in the runout groove, then compare them with the pressings listed above; for example, SAD LP 4- A-3 ∙ STRAWBERRY ∙ W AIC 23 and SAD LP 4-B-2 ∙ STRAWBERRY ∙ W AIB LR. Later reissues often keep the catalog number but change the label design or the runout codes.
