How do I tell if my copy of The Animals is a first pressing?

Check the catalog number on the label (first-year pressings use 33SX 1669, T-100380, 33OSX 1669, FPX 289) and the codes etched in the runout groove, then compare them with the pressings listed above; for example, XAX 2717-1N and XAX 2718-1N.
