Irish folk band active 1969-1998, an offshoot of The Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem. In 1969, after Tommy Makem left the group to go solo, Pat Clancy, Tom Clancy and Liam Clancy recruited brother Bobby Clancy and continued as The Clancy Brothers. This lineup was accompanied by Finbar Furey and Eddie Furey. Bobby left the group in 1971 and was replaced by Louis Killen, who recorded four albums with them. Liam and Louis left in 1976, and the group went on a brief hiatus. The band regrouped in 1977 with Pat, Tom, Bobby and nephew Robbie O'Connell. Liam rejoined the group in 1990, when Tom took ill (he died later that year). Liam and Robbie left in 1995.
