The Impalas were a racially integrated doowop group that formed in Brooklyn, NY in 1958. The group consisted of: Richard Wagner, Tony Carlucci, Joe "Speedo" Frazier and Leonardo "Lenny" Renda. They made their mark a year later after being discovered by disc jockey Alan Freed who helped sign them to the Cub label. The Impalas charted a few hits before eventually disbanding in 1961.
