Doo-wop group from Newark, New Jersey, U.S. Formed in the mid-1950s, originally under the name The Supremes. The group originally comprised James Patrick (tenor), William Franklin (tenor), Larry Davis (baritone), William Miller (bass), and Pearl McKinnon (lead), and this was the lineup for their first two records. Around mid-1958, Franklin and Davis left to join the Sonics (“This Broken Heart”). They were replaced by Harold “Curly” Jenkins and Richard Dixon, and with this lineup, the group recorded two more records before splitting up, probably around 1959.
