Originally known as The Kubas, The Koobas began in Liverpool in 1963. The following year they issued a single on Columbia, then moved to London where they joined Tony Stratton-Smith's management agency. A trip to Hamburg, a deal with Pye and a tour with The Beatles followed before the quartet signed with EMI (again) in 1966. The Koobas had split up by the time their eponymous album was issued in 1969.
