19 vinyl pressings of Carved In Sand are listed here, from 15 countries, released between 1990 and 2017.
The earliest pressings are from 1990, in UK, Portugal, Canada, Mexico and more. One of them is Mercury 842 251-1, released February 5, 1990.
Check the catalog number on the label (first-year pressings use 842 251-1, LPR-19205, 50 022-1, PL MMC 9003) and the codes etched in the runout groove, then compare them with the pressings listed above; for example, 8422511 A-3U-1-2 TOWNHOUSE DMM and 8422511 B-3U-1-2 TOWNHOUSE DMM. Later reissues often keep the catalog number but change the label design or the runout codes.
It depends on which pressing you have and on the condition of the record and its sleeve. Early pressings from the album's home country in near mint condition are usually worth the most; common later reissues are worth far less. Scan your copy with VinylLens to see its value for every grade.
