American heavy metal band formed in December 1972 by Jay Jay French in Ho Ho Kus. The band was originally called Silver Star and included French, John Segall and Mel Anderson. In February 1973 Silver Star changed its name to Twisted Sister. In December 1974 this version of the band broke up. The second line-up included Rick Prince and Keith Angel. In 1975 Prince left and French took over the lead vocal. Just after Labor Day 1975 the fourth version of the band started with French, Eddie Ojeda, Kevin John Grace and Kenny Neill (Kenneth Harrison Neill). In February 1976 Danny Snider (Dee Snider) joined, followed by Tony Petri in April that year.
