Zot was an American New Wave and modern rock band from Huntington Beach, California, led by singer and keyboardist . The group formed in the early 1980s and their sound has been described as simple and ethereal, drawing comparisons to David Bowie and Nick Gilder. Despite being managed by the prestigious (who also handled Rod Stewart and Michael J. Fox) and opening for Culture Club at major venues in 1985, the band failed to achieve lasting commercial success. Following the band's quick decline into obscurity, frontman Randy Wayne went on to tour with Rod Stewart and co-wrote several minor hits for him in the late 1980s.
